Try saying THAT six times fast!
This weekend was a busy one of firsts for our family...
All 4 Meissler's in swim completed their courses....Ella is skipping Level 4 and advancing right to 5; Natalie (who skipped level 2 mid session and advanced to 3) is graduating to Level 4 and Grace & David advance to Level 2. The BIG news is that both Grace & David jumped off the diving board to 'graduate' from their class. We went from crying hysterically if mom or dad put either of them on the stair in the shallow end to yelling 'cannon-ball!' while leaping from the diving board in the deep section...AMAZING! Claire is so eager to join her siblings that she now willingly dunks her head under water, and will purposely step off the third step into the 3 ft section only to dog-paddle back up to said step. Craig and I can hardly believe these are OUR offspring (I personally never advanced beyond Tadpole, and Craig leaped from moving vehicles to avoid swim class!) Next week Ella & Natalie tryout for the fall session of competitive swim, and Natalie hopes to make dive team. We'll keep y'all posted!
Another BIG first this weekend was that Grace learned to ride a two-wheeler! She is our youngest Meissler yet to achieve this goal, and from the way she rides, you'd think she has been at it for weeks already! (after a Mercedes, a bike is no sweat!) Grace really deserves a lot of credit for this, as it was not exactly decided on her time. Mom ran over one of her training wheels while sneaking out for a quick trip to Walgreens and we just didn't get around to replacing the broken trainer. Grace just finally decided that she could wait no longer, and stated very matter of fact like that she was ready for her trainers to come off. Within the hour, she was riding her bike. Congratulations, kiddo!
Everything else around these parts is status quo...this summer is a hot one and we're ready for fall...we decided to start school around our 'normal' time, (after Labor Day), and so everyone is enjoying the hours and hours of free play that IS summertime!
We hope all is well with you and yours!
Until next time,
The Meissler 7
