Dear Friends,
As a reward for being the HIGHEST SELLING TROOP in the SW Texas region of Girl Scouts, the girls were treated to an outing at our local ice skating rink. A FABULOUS time was had by all....until that evening when the numerous falls during the outing took a toll on compact little bodies! Still, the kids can't wait to go again....I'll have them tell you in their own words:
Ella: I went ice skating before, for my friend Sido's b-day, so I knew what to expect. It was still kind of scary, though! I felt like a bad sister once because I can only go forward and couldn't turn around to help Grace when she fell:-(. I really liked skating! (note from mom: Ella is the consistent skater...she is better on it then she lets on, and she rarely falls! We assured her she is NOT a bad sister...you can only do so much!)
Natalie: Ice skating was REALLY fun! I am going to have my birthday there this summer. I love it, I'm good at it, and it is a fun thing to do! Amen. (note from mom: Natalie is the most daring on skates. She remembers seeing a picture of her friend Emma looking elegant while doing a difficult maneuver and all day tried to be just like her! Needless to say, she felt the most uncomfortable that evening.)
Grace: I had to hold onto the railing the whole time. It was a really fun thing to do, and I can go all the way around the rink even though I'm not that good at it. (note from mom: Grace was the first one on the ice....and immediately turned & fell to get off of it :-) She just kept at it...very admirable.)
David: It was too cold! (note from mom: This being said from the observation area!)
Other news:
We are hosting some high school students from Concordia Lutheran School in Tomball this weekend. They will be singing during our worship services on Sunday.
Shiner had his well check today and is a whopping 18.6lbs!
Everyone but Grace has changed what they want to do for the upcoming Science Fair...OY!
That's all for now...have a great week!
Love Much,
The Meissler 7
