Rain, Busy, Rain, Busy, Rain...

Well, the day has finally come. The day I actually LONG to have a DirectTV box in my home! Why? Brett Favre (think what you will of his traitorous ways) is on Monday Night Football tonight, and alas, I don't get to see him in all his splendid glory! I LOVE THE WAY HE PLAYS WITH SUCH ENTHUSIASM!!! Maybe someone will post game hi-lights on YouTube...

There really hasn't been much going on here. The rains have finally started, and on early Sunday morning we had a downfall significant enough to flood all the previously dry creeks, and set a record last set in the 1940's. It is amazing to see the world green-up again!

Family wise, Ella completed her first sewing project, (a pillow); Natalie is now learning violin pieces to prepare her for youth symphony next year; Grace is catching toads and geckos like crazy; David is living in his Bat-cave world for 23 of 24 hours and Claire has finally mastered both bodily functions on the big girl potty!

We are grateful for our health. A friend of the kids was hospitalized this past week with complications from SwineFlu (I can't remember the number flu...sorry to whomever might be offended!) and we had the pleasure of caring for his family by gift of food and time. We shared our home with his younger sister and re-discovered all of our doll toys again. Something about having a girl friend over who lacks all things girl helps our girls appreciate their girl-dom, and heightens their sensitivity of David's only-boy-ness. Thankfully, he was returned home on Sunday evening, and we're continuing to pray that his body fully heals.

The fam is off to Austin this weekend...looking SO forward to a visit with Shiner Bark (the kids are all making guesses as to just how big he'll be now), and (of course) the Hopp family.

Blessings!
