March has come and gone and there has yet to be a single post on our blog...
There are a variety of reasons for this, from birthdays (March is the busiest for us) to schedules, from company and still more company. Our family as a whole has appeared to have adjusted to dad's new school schedule, and mom is learning to use leaf-blowers and drills to keep up with the spring maintenance of our home inside and out.
For the birthdays, Claire turned 3, Ella turned 12 and Grace turned 7. Our extended family had birthdays to celebrate as well (3 total) and so our birthday banner was up almost continuously, with only the streamers changing color, and a varied collection of helium balloons gathered on our cathedral ceilings. So if (by chance) you are in the market for helium balloons, you will most definitely get your monies worth from balloons filled at Party City!!! (a close second, for our Texas dwelling friends, is HEB). Our buy-your-own tank lasted about a day and a half, which was fine for the 'birthday chair' decor. This year Claire knew not to grab the candle while still lit, Ella was able to have a friend over AND see Percy Jackson and the Olympians (on the last day it was showing here!), and Grace opted for seeing How to Train Your Dragon with her friends at her Littlest Pet Shop party. All in all the birthdays were successful, and memorable for all the family:-).
Craig was busy to 2 weeks worth of traveling choirs, one of which required we host some students. Craig was also busy with school and the basic chaos of holy week, resulting in his missing Ella's spring choir concert. Her choir performed all pieces from memory AND a capella, which was impressive, and beautiful. The choir consists of about 50 homeschooled students, and they practice for about 2 hours every week. Next year, thanks to a generous grant, the choir will be touring and performing around Texas...lots to look forward too!
Some of our Arizona family visited over spring break, and the kids really had a great time bonding with Aunties, Amas and Cousins...we look forward to when we can see each other again! David is again hounding mom about having another baby, as both of his visiting Aunties are preggers and David really loves babies!
Our weather has FINALLY turned beautiful, and with the beauty the attack of the tent caterpillars. We are daily destroying them, and the leaves are so abundant on the trees we have thus far been unable to locate their nest! We have replaced living plants for those lost in the 'freeze' and are hopeful our damaged plants spring back to life...if not, they too will be replaced shortly. We have planted our tomato plants and are already salivating at the thought of picking our own green tomatoes~which we know Uncle Paul appreciates:-).
Easter was a blessed day, and we were fortunate to have our Austin family up. Always good to see everyone....
....for those of you we haven't seen, know we love and miss you ALL! We will try to keep the blog updated monthly - have a great April!
Love Much,
The Meissler 7
