The Meissler 7 have a very busy, very FULL life, and in the course of the busyness, I have to make choices about how best to spend my time. Girl's night? A movie? A date with my hubby? Cleaning? School? Blogging rarely makes the list, and when it does, it never really seems to make the cut...
I don't see this changing any time soon, so snippets here and there are all I can promise!
Our year from Feb - April, a nutshell:
We survived another Girl Scout cookie season...Ella re-injured her foot on the first day of sales, and had to make up for it by participating in as many booth sales as possible! During this time, weekends were non-existent. We also had 3 children age...Claire turned 5 (!), Ella turned 14 (!) and Grace turned 9 (!). I/we can't believe our children are growing older so quickly, hence the (!) :). Easter happened in there, along with the crazy-busy of the midweek service schedule, and so between that and his school, we very rarely got to see Craig!
That being said, Craig is an OFFICIAL pastor now, having received his certification last week. His ordination service is scheduled at Shepherd May 27th @ 3pm. Though he has completed 2 years of study, and is a bonafide Pastor, he still has 2 more years of study to complete. Our prayer is that the work load subsides a little academically, as we know already his work schedule will increase in responsibility with his new job title. As far as I am concerned, I'm scheduled for my hysterectomy on June 27th. I'm ecstatic that the procedure is to be robotic, which means the recovery time will be 4 weeks vs 8 :) ! Ella is officially enrolled in Lutheran High School, and is expected to begin her HS journey this fall. (This accomplishment is a bittersweet transition in our household!) Natalie had her chair test for YOSA and moved up to 2nd chair (!), and then received a GOLD medal for her competitive performance in the NEISD UIL. She also had the end of her YOSA season, with auditions coming up in June for the next season. Grace has been a featured artist, having 3 pieces of her artwork selected for display at a local library. David is 100% Avenger, and can brief anyone who cares to listen on the strengths and (gasp!) weaknesses of all superheroes. Claire is sweet as ever, and getting more vocal and less shy as the years roll by. She really can be quite the cut-up! We're working on being more vigilant with her food intake, being sure all is w/o gluten or dairy, as her allergies to those products are getting stronger:/.
That's all I can think of for now...I'm sure I'm forgetting things...I apologize...
Truly,
The Meissler 7
PS: For some reason random words are highlighted in the post...this is NOT intentional, and I'm (frankly) too tired to figure out why!
