Somehow We Made It!!!

Last week was one of THOSE weeks....the schedule filled as full as imaginable with enough time at the end of the day to breathe a sigh and chant, 'one day down, x more to go!'.

The week started with preparation for the neighborhood Fall Festival. Unfortunately, we were informed 2 days before the festival we would NOT be able to sell what we had planned to, so the kids and mom went to participate as consumers instead of vendors. Of course, our booth would have totally rocked (their loss). Oh well. The highlight of the day was David winning the cake walk, and then picking the biggest cake available as his prize. He was so proud of his accomplishment, and was awesome about sharing the spoils with his family at dinner time. Every other bite he was too cute exclaiming that HE won the cake, followed by the sisters praising him and thanking him incessantly for the yummy dessert. (We have such great kids!)

The week still had the usual diving, scouts, cello and violin (no horseback as it fell on Halloween), which wasn't TOO bad (we've adjusted!). The difference was the girls scouting meeting included their first awards ceremony/Halloween party/Julliette Low's b-day party celebration. Each girl had to recite (in front of EVERYONE) the Girl Scout pledge, and then were presented with the badges they had earned as a troop, followed by their individual badges (each met their goal of 5 additional badges!). After the ceremony, Natalie's Brownie troop performed a special skit to raise funds for their 'adopt an animal' from the SA Zoo campaign, followed by the party!

The kiddos were all invited to numerous parties this past week, but we narrowed them down to 2 - one for Ella exclusively (a friend b-day) and one for everyone (Halloween). Add to that their Nut orders for Girl Scouts arriving, (so the collecting of funds and delivering of product filling their weekend) and just plain LIFE with trick or treat thrown in, and it is amazing we survived the week!

I know that God will provide the patience, the flexibility, the grace to 'roll with the punches' as our family gains mobility with age. I am grateful for the strength given to ALL of us this past week, but boy am I glad it's over!

Here's hoping your November is a happy one...and that your trick or treat candy lasts longer than this week!

Love Much,

The Meissler 7
