Where to Start????

Dear Family & Friends,

There have been SOOO many events this past week, it is truly hard to believe that only a week has passed!

All the cookies are delivered (minus 2 homes in the neighborhood) and so the season of cookies is FINALLY over! The girls are anxious for the spring awards ceremony to receive the recognitions they worked so hard for and definitely DESERVE!

The Brownie Try-Its was a success and the girls were so excited that the session actually lasted the full 2 hours, and eventually involved the Sr/Cadette level girls in addition to the Jr/Brownie& Daisy levels...and teaching it was as gratifying as it was exhausting!:-). The 'highlight' of the day (for me, at least) had to be hearing David play the trumpet like he'd picked up the instrument every day of his young life to practice it....I think we've found his musical gift!

Finally, the girls performed BEAUTIFULLY at the talent show, and we couldn't be prouder of them! We have received many compliments, and the general consensus is 'what will the girls' play next year?' Grace has picked up on the strings like she's been the one taking lessons over a year now, and it is almost like hearing an orchestra warm up during the morning time in our home! Since I can't figure out how to add the clip from youtube to our blog, please feel free to check it out at : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oXmlvrY9RA . (and please forgive that the video is sideways...live and learn!)

This evening I had a pile of expo erase boards pile on top of my foot at Sam's club (David was really enjoying the 'clap' sound the display made while I was looking at one of the boards to add to our homeschool), and I am at this moment wearing Ella's boot from last summer...it works! I have a whole new respect for Ella's pain tolerance, as (you may recall) she went for an entire WEEK w/o medical attention, and I'm practically in tears only a few hours into injury! I was also blessed by the injury into seeing she has a natural ability in medical care...she did a superb job getting mom's ducks in a row with the cast and explaining it while caring for me!

Oh, one last thing....after the girls participated in the youth symphony 'paint to music' contest, we arrived home to find a HUGE garter snake in the cul-de-sac. I had the choice of locking the kids up for the day or catching it, and now we have 'sticking hand out the third' or ''lovey' or 'snakey' or 'opossum' as a pet...depending on which child you ask the name of the snake of from. Really, catching the snake was WAY easier than keeping the kids indoors!

Much love to you all,

The Meissler 7
