A New Puppy!

We have a new puppy! (and he is SO MUCH MORE CUDDLY than our snake!)

Last week a person came into the school office at church with a box full of puppies saying he couldn't take care of them all. Mom said 'no' ....not until all HER babies were potty trained! Then it happened that our puppy was the only one left, and it was the end of the day (which meant any dog left would go to the pound), and so we find ourselves with Shiner :-).

Let us tell you about him:

"He is just so playful and cute!" Natalie

"He is very active at night!" Grace

"He likes to chase after me when I wear a diaper!" Claire

"He is the BEST DOG EVER...We are so blessed! Although I forgot puppies are like newborns...up every 2 hours!" Mom

"He plays and is soft!" David

"All our best pets come from church!" Ella

"He just has the best temperament - easy going in nature, loves being around people and the kids, potty trained and loves being where we are. He even has a really cute roly-poly belly!" Craig

We took Shiner into the vet on Friday, and the opinion of the vet is that he is about 4 1/2 weeks old, weighs 4lbs, 3oz, and (though apparently mixed with something else) will grow to be a "hardy dog, the "Berner’s" intelligence, strength and agility helped him perform the drafting and droving work in the mountainous region where he originated. Today, this versatile breed participates in conformation, obedience, carting, agility, tracking, herding and therapy work. Like the other Swiss breeds, they are tri-colored, with patches of black, rust and white.dog...Bernese Mountain Dog, to be exact." The funny thing is that the rock border around our planters is his favorite area!

He crate trained immediately, and is very much a 'watchdog', wanting to be with the family wherever the activity may be. Did we mention he is too cute!?!?!

Okay, since we have 'puppy on the brain' we'll leave you all with this for the the blog this week.

Hope all of you are healthy and happy!

Love Much,

Oh my goodness, he is SO cute. My sister had a Bernese Mt. Dog. The Dog was awesome, big, but awesome. Shiner couldn't have picked a better family! Enjoy!
