This week has been a busy one with VBS...the kids FAV moment during the evening is visiting the 'underground church' as they are living in Rome during the time of Paul, post ascension. The other 'hi-light' is attending the events with Dad, making it a special time for them. Mom & Claire enjoy the one-on-one time, but the silence can be deafening at times!
Yesterday, Grace had me tie some floss around her first loose tooth and leave the room. Within the minute, she had pulled it out!! SO BRAVE, so proud; Way to Go, Grace! The Tooth Fairy left her $1 for her first tooth, and made a point to praise her for her bravery :-).
Today, Natalie chose to have her ears pierced for her 'big' birthday gift this year. She was really committed, as she opted out of her promised MP3 player...she definitely knew what she wanted! She didn't cry and was surprisingly calm during the piercing. (The tech let us know most kids her age lose it the minute they sit in the chair!) Her siblings stared in horrified awe as her ears were poked, and I was amazed at how quiet the machine is now. As a kid, I can remember the distinct 'POP' sound that would reverb throughout the mall from the corner store Claire's Accessories.
We're looking forward to the family outing of ice skating tomorrow (and just in time as the heat has spiked here!), and general family togetherness as we celebrate Natalie's birthday.
