Well, we made it.
Day 5 of our first full week. The children woke up after normal breakfast time, they were so tired from a late night following a busy week! Though the start of school was late, it was an easy start. We had a little break from running as Ella's sewing lesson was cancelled for today, but set to resume next Friday.
We added a new World Geography program (from the same publisher as the U.S. Geography we used last year), b to our workload. To add a bit of Christian perspective, we're including the Veggie Tales Bible Atlapedia as a fun way to explore the locations referenced in the Bible and what took place there. So far, it's been a great way to learn about the big, wide world, and we've shared more laughter than complaint. The SmartGlobe we received as a gift 2 years ago is a great interactive tool that we also have included in our world studies.
We had a 'breakthrough' moment with Claire today, when she noticed some print on a sign and asked 'what's those letters saying?'. It is so awesome learning at home...I can't imagine not spending these years together!
The day ended with the search for our camera and the hook that holds Cookies' (the guinea pig) water bottle in place on her cage, as she knocked the bottle loose with enough umph to pop off the hook. Both items are still misplaced!
While getting everything set up for the bedtime routine, I overheard the kids playing an interesting game. It involved a cow with udders that dispensed a variety of beverages (tea, milk, pop, milkshakes, cough syrup, soup) and a crime loving prisoner they wanted to wow into marriage with the foods from the talented bovine. However, their efforts were in vain, for ultimately the prisoner faked an illness, tied the compassionate warden up and made a break for it, telling the hopeful bride and her udder-riffic cow that he had "an evil plan". It was at this point that the bride exclaimed she didn't "want an 'evil plan' just a NORMAL wedding!" I lost at my effort to contain my laughter, (the irony of the cow with different beverage filled udders being normal but a criminal with an evil plan NOT was just too much) and the night ended with the usual routine.
Our weekend is full with errand running and a BBQ tomorrow, and church, Craig's school, Ella's youth group meeting (and life in general) on Sunday. Whew!
In closing, I met my goal for this week, but I don't think I'll be blogging every day. The realist in me just finds it more practical to blog once or twice a week, and after following this week, I hope you understand why!
Have a great weekend!

I love reading blogs I have so much in common with! I love living life with the kids! Watching them learn something for the first time. Love it!
Oh, and we have lost our water holder on our GP too-several times, urg! We have had to bend wire hangers to replace. I was way to excited to see the replacement bottle at walmart for 3 bucks. Our bottle was pretty gross. But it is a bigger bottle and a much better holdy thingy...lol.
Youth group was fun! I hope Ella had a lot of fun:)
