Today, Ella is officially a teenager!
To celebrate her birthday this year, Ella chose to attend a San Antonio Rampage Ice Hockey game, with a trip to Melting Pot restaurant for a fondue dessert:-).
The game rocked! Sure, we lost to the Milwaukee Admirals, but they have an unfair advantage with 8 months of winter to our (maybe) 1...Ella's day was made even more fabulous as the team mascot, T-Bone, kissed and signed her ticket!

Claire was treated to a special 'Claire Bear' dress, sewn for her by Ella. The fit was perfect and she looked so darling! She enjoyed her gluten-free 'ducky cake', even though it wasn't discovered until after the cake was baked that the gluten-free mixes don't rise the same as gluten-full cakes, so the duck was one dimension instead of a freestanding 3 dimensional...live and learn.
(and her parents are officially 'old')

Side Note: The home game closest to Ella's bday was on the 18th, so the team wore green jerseys instead of black, and someone in the mascot dept. thought the normally white bovine should be green, all in the name of St. Paddy's Day. Personally, this made me think of mad-cow disease or some other unsightly, bad meat thing, which then made me contemplate how sad it was that I couldn't even look at a cow mascot without thinking of steak!
Since Ella's bday is covered here, I thought it'd be a great opportunity to share David & Claire's bday pics, so that I'm all caught up for Grace's bday on Sunday:-)

I don't know what I do to the camera to make the world all blurry, or why his cake looks as if it is on fire when he only had 6 candles on it, but there you have it.
So, now that the post is done, I'm off to take Grace to Art class, get started on the thank you notes due from January, and making Ella's bday cake. Tonight we have David's first Tball game...my recovery from surgery has had it's glitches, but I think I'm finally on the mend...maybe more on that later, but for now I'm just busy!
Love Much,
The Meissler 7
