Book Clubs, Birthdays, Tball Games, Fevers, Concerts, Hockey Games & Quotes

Well, we've been a busy bunch...so here goes a 'bullet point' type update: Grace had a FABULOUS birthday, with a party at a gymnastics center and FUN,FUN,FUN had by all...so much fun that every attempt at a picture ended up as a blur passing by my viewfinder. The next week Claire inherited a fever courtesy of Mia, and now the entire house, minus Craig, has a cold with a lovely seal-like-but-not-whooping-cough cough. It's too funny with Mia though because she is a competitive child so any time one of us 'barks', she 'barks' too, so our cough-etitions are amusing, to say the least. Ella & Natalie had the chance to join a Harry Potter Book Club at the Schertz Public Library, and had a wonderful time concocting potions and discussing the highly anticipated release of the 2nd and final HP film... David has 2 games a week, and his sisters are always there to cheer him on...he is truly 'into' the sport about 90% of the time, depending on heat and circumstance regarding the team he's playing (cooler and a chance at a win = enthusiasm vs. too hot and being creamed = losing:-) Ella had an opportunity the day before Grace's bday to FLY A PLANE and TAXI ON THE RUNWAY through our Girl Scout Council...her pilot encouraged her to enroll in the Jr. Aviator program offered through the San Antonio Airport after seeing that "she is a natural". Craig & I had a chance to snatch up some tickets for the San Antonio Rampage (Ice Hockey) game this past Saturday from our church auction for the church school the day before. We WON the tickets for the Wells Fargo Terrace Suite and were able to treat our family and friends to an awesome game where the Rampage won in OT. As a mommy, my favorite 'perk' had to be the luxurious bathrooms....for the rest of the folk it seemed to be the leather seats, unlimited $25 popcorn and run-around room. It truly was a 'chance of a lifetime' type of opportunity, as the tickets for the suite retailed at $4500, and we won with a $60 bid. (See what happens when the rest of the congregation signs up for Lutheran HS Trivia night???) It was cheaper for our family and friends this game than it was for us when we went on Ella's bday, with just 3 of our 7! So...we're busy (as always), and getting ready for Ella to leave on her choir tour this Friday, and Craig to leave for his Spring session in St. Louis on Sunday. Thanks to all who helped support Ella's tour...we are truly blessed and so grateful for this opportunity! We were all able to see her Spring Concert (despite a 4 car pile-up on the expressway) and were impressed with the quality and professionalism of the Sr.Choir performance. We ended the evening with a trip to our favorite sweet spot, Brindles. I'll wrap it up with some of my fav quotes heard around our home, and while we've been running out and about: Claire to the sibs at Petsmart: "Don't jump in the puddles! It's puppy pee!" Ella after injury: "I just epically biffed it by jumping into a planter to avoid being tagged." David: "Well, my wish came true; I took Claire's cold away from her." Hope ya'll have a FABULOUS week....till next post, Love Much, The Meissler 7
