Happy Monday, Family & Friends!
Last Thursday, our 'little Indian baby' turned 7 - do you believe it?!? She had a fabulous day and was treated to store-bought cake and shrimp scampi for dinner (her favorites). Since her big day also fell on the hottest day of the summer (thus far) we were also able to make our pizza boxes into solar ovens, and had melty, messy smores as an afternoon snack - you've gotta make the best of hot days!
On Friday we had a wedding rehearsal and dinner for our good friends 'Miss. Rachel' (now, Mrs.!) and Mr. Nick...on Saturday they were wed and Natalie was their flower girl. She LOVED her perfect-for-dancing-in dress, complete with Hello Kitty blue bow, strappy heels and sparkly headband. She truly shined as princess for a night, and the entire family had a great time celebrating the McNabb union! It was too fun seeing the kids tear up the dance floor - (little party animals!) - and hearing their wishes for the newlywed couple (hint - lots of babies!!).
On Sunday our kitty Oreo had a follow up appt for his dewclaw, and we found he had a minor infection and that he can reach his paw despite his collar, so he is now on antibiotics and has a bandaged arm. Poor kitty!
This week is our 'slow' week - we are scheduled for another pet appt. for Oreo and Natalie had violin this a.m. - Ella has cello on Thursday p.m....lots of pool time is on the docket, and next week we start swim lessons for E,N,G & D and ballet camp for everyone except David and Claire.
Since I know I am not a perfect person, and that ballet camp and swim lessons might be a bit much to have going on together, I have given myself permission to postpone the start of school to the following week. To celebrate my willingness to be flexible, I ate 6 oz of Serrano pepper salsa for lunch....my tummy burns, but it was SO worth it!
Have a wonderful week - enjoy your summer!
Love Much,
The Meissler 7
